Consolidate the whole batch
A Shopify export lists every line item separately, so the same SKU can appear on a dozen rows. The pick list merges them into one line with a total quantity — one walk around the shelves instead of twelve.

Shopify export mapping
Shopify order exports put each line item on its own row. Map the fields once and the generator handles the grouping and the totals.
A Shopify export lists every line item separately, so the same SKU can appear on a dozen rows. The pick list merges them into one line with a total quantity — one walk around the shelves instead of twelve.
While consolidating, the pick list keeps each SKU’s order numbers attached, so a picker can trace any line back to the orders it serves.
After picking, the generator splits the same upload into one packing slip per order with the ship-to address and line items pre-filled — the second half of the pick-and-pack workflow.
Shopify CSV mapping
Shopify order export columns vary by template. Choose the column that represents each packing concept; financial columns such as taxes and payment status can stay unmapped.
| Look for in your CSV | Map to OrderQuill | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Name, order number, or order ID | Order ID | Groups line items per order and powers the consolidated totals |
| SKU, variant SKU, lineitem sku, or product title | SKU or Product name | Consolidates matching products on the pick list |
| Lineitem quantity or variant inventory quantity | Quantity | Totals the units to pick for each SKU |
| Shipping name, shipping street, shipping city and related fields | Customer and address fields | Builds the ship-to block on each packing slip |
| Notes, note attributes, or tags when present | Order note | Surfaces gift messages and packing instructions on the slip |
Unfulfilled line items and partially refunded orders behave differently across Shopify export templates. Compare the pick list totals against the Shopify Orders screen before packing.
Platform workflow
Shopify exports order data as CSV from the admin on the web. Choose an export that includes the line-item and shipping fields your workflow needs.
Shopify official order export instructions ↗In Shopify admin, open Orders, filter to the batch you plan to fulfill, and export the CSV with line-item fields included.
Upload the CSV, then map the order identifier, SKU or product title, quantity, and the shipping name and address fields available in your export.
Print the consolidated pick list and collect the goods, then print the per-order packing slips and check off each box as it is sealed.
Questions, answered
Shopify has no built-in consolidated pick list. Export the orders you plan to fulfill as CSV, upload it to OrderQuill, and it builds a pick list with total quantities per SKU plus one packing slip per order — free, with no app installed on your store.
No. OrderQuill reads the CSV you export from Shopify. Nothing is installed, no Shopify login is shared, and no store permissions are granted.
It handles whatever rows the export contains. Filter your Shopify export to the orders you intend to pack, and compare totals against the admin screen before picking.
No. The CSV is parsed locally in your browser; the picking and slip generation never send your order data to a server.
